Passionfruit grow on semi-evergreen tendril-climbing vines with glossy foliage and fragrant exotic flowers. They are best in frost and wind free sites, but will tolerate light frosts. You can plant in pots or ground as long as it is planted in acidic, sandy, moist, well drained soil. Plant next to a fence or trellis so vine can climb. Roots are shallow so mulch around tree. Passion fruit live between 5-7 years and fruit after its first year. Fruit is full of vitamin A, B C and Fibre. Leaves can be used to make herbal tea.
